Hi there,
I tried trial version of MediaTracker. It seems freezing when I add the first item to library. I was so happy there was a software for my Century CD for Mac but it didn't last for long. I am hoping to have this issue fixed for us to use with Snow Leopard. Thanks for understanding.
Jude
When I forced quit this program and got a problem report. Do you want me to send this report? its really huge.
I have just found this thread, after buying 2 DiscHubs, and creating a Support Ticket, still underway.
Version 10.6.3 is now out. I am having to do a lot of work repartitioning to install an earlier Leopard OS solely for use with MediaTracker Pro.
Can the Web Page that still states OS 10.4 or higher, which is still there, be adjusted to indicate the true state of compatability.
Otherwise users with the newest Macs, which cannot revert to lower OS Versions will have unusable hardware.
Unless there's a way to use Parallels or VMWare Fusion with the PC Version, but I've not got the time to experiment with that.
As long as you are just running Centurion CD then I have had only occasional hiccups with mediatracker Lite. Just make sure you backup with a new date suffix after every batch of loads.
MediaTracker Professional however, is another matter altogether. The main problems seem to be in batch add to library (if the CD/DVD is not in an acceptable format) and also media library backup ( a potentially nasty problem - it just hangs). I've also found that switching from one type of task to another causes problems, particularly if I swap from one task using the Mac DVD drive to the DiscHub and back. I now shut down MTPro and restart for each new type of task. So how do I backup the library and batch add discs?
Both products seem to write to the same library format. To backup the library I start MTLite and perform the backup with that. Note that I do not use advanced features like logical topic (Media) collections. I do not know if MTLite can write to the library or back it up if the advanced features are used.
If you are having trouble getting even the base install of MT Pro to work, why not try installing MT Lite first to initialise the library. Note that subsequently adding a discHub and MTPro requires the installation of the DiscHub driver. This is done automatically by a successful MTPro install (although you must acknowledge a prompt and accept).
Hello Jude,
Greetings from Digistore Solutions.
Presently, the MediaTRACKER application does not support Mac OS X Snow Leopard. We will announce the release once we have the version support.
You may send us the logfile through our "Request for Support" portal, I am sure it will provide our developer with valuable information in their development. Thanks.
Best regards,
Ivan

Hi Ivan,
When do you expect to release a version for Snow Leopard? Is that going to be in weeks, months or years? I have taken out all the CD from Century CD which I used to manage by DDS software. I need to manage the current CDs somehow. Also I have ordered 3 units of Centurion CD but I have cancelled it. If it is going to take short period to release a new version, I can reorder again and keep my CDs in safe place for sometimes. So please tell me how long do I need to wait.
Thanks
Jude
Hello Jude,
Greetings from Digistore Solutions.
Presently, I am unable to advise you with a firm date. Most of our resources have been diverted towards the developing of the Workgroup Edition for PC platform. We will have to wait till the completion of this development before we move our resource back to the Mac support.
Best regards,
Ivan

Hi Ivan,
I am also software engineer and I own a software development company. I can understand the resource limitation. Since you haven't allocated resource for Mac OS 10.6.2, may I ask alternate solution. Please help me out.
1. Is it possible to move database from windows 7 to mac os 10.6.2? or any easy way to export data between 2 OS?
2. If so, if I purchase the mediatracker standard license for windows 7, will I able to use the same license in Mac?
If yes for both questions, I can purchase windows version license and use it until mac version is available.
Thanks
Jude
Hello Jude,
Greetings from Digistore Solutions.
Below are my respond to your questions, namely:
Q: Is it possible to move database from windows 7 to mac os 10.6.2? or any easy way to export data between 2 OS?
A: In cross platform migration the answer is normally a NO. The main reason was, we cannot undermine the changes made as newer OS platform comes along. We did successfully migrate the MediaTRACKER Library database between Windows and Mac OS platform. This was done with the earlier version of Windows and Mac OS X. We cannot guarantee that this will definitely work but the chance is there.
Q: If so, if I purchase the mediatracker standard license for windows 7, will I able to use the same license in Mac?
A: Yes, it does not matter where you apply the MediaTRACKER Standard license as long as the "Registered Hardware" is connected when the MediaTRACKER Standard edition operate. The MediaTRACKER Standard license is tie to a "Registered Hardware" and will require the designated organizer unit to be connected so as to have unlimited usage. If the "Registered Hardware" isn't connected to the default system, the MediaTRACKER Standard will revert back to trial version instead.

Hi Ivan,
i see that there was no Mac Snow Leopard Support for MediaTracker Standard as of February this year. Has that changed at all? I just upgraded to Snow Leopard and now I can't put new discs in my CD units.
Please advise!
Thanks

Hello Wyard,
Greetings form Digistore Solutions.
I am afraid there is still no support for Mac OS X Snow Leopard. I would urge that you remain using the eariler Mac version should you wish to continue using MediaTRACKER application to support your Centurion range of products.
