Should I use more than 1 power pack for 3 units stacked?

Hello;I have 3 units stacked,Is 1 power pack ok for 3 units,or should I use more than one? like a power pack on the first unit, and one on the 3rd unit stacked? Is there enough power to operate 3 units stacked and full?
I had 3 older Century CD units, a spare and two stacked active units. Since the instructions gave no real reference to powering more than just the first unit, the upper unit did not have power.
When the bottom unit neared being filled, it seemed to be struggling to turn the carrousel and eventually the top unit became unresponsive. I replace the top unit with my spare and now it has become unresponsive also.
Should ALL units in a stack have their own Power Supply? I've always been told that "under volting" an electronic device can cause damage just as well over volting.
The thought of having any large number of these units stacked with one power supply just gives me a definite feeling of dread and doom! :)
For what it's worth, I've had four Century 100 units stacked using one power supply and one USB connection, for a couple of years now and all four carousels work just fine.
Allow me to explain a little on the stacking operation. The stacking is achieve via having a data cable that transmitte both the data's and power needed to drive the motor that in turns drive the carousel. Overall the power consumption is pretty minor, the power supply that comes with the packing is more then sufficient to provide upto 10 units. Since not all organizer unit will eject a disc at the sametime, there will not be any different in performance when either of the unit within the stack is being operated.
As for your spare unit that does not turns, you may check if that organizer unit is been detected by the MediaTRACKER application. Just go under the View - Connected Organizers..., you should be able to see the serial number of the said unit. If you are unable to see the unit, I would advise that you check the connecting pins and/or the connector to see if it is bent or out of position.
Hello Lordgalla
Greetings from Digistore Solutions.
Yes. It is alright for you to use one power pack for 3 Units of Centurion CD ( on the base unit ) - in a single stack.
Thank you and best regards.
Cheers
